Ready for the LOOOOONNNNGGGGESSSSSTTTT blog ever?? Here we go (this is for you, Wendy!) On Friday afternoon the 11th of July, we began "the move" from Pembrook to Northlake Farms. Luckly we had a GREAT friend who watched the kids all day. There was only about a 2 hour break that we had the kids before they went off to babysitting group that night. Here they are, helping Daddy load up! (we apparently accumlated quite a bit in a year... it took one 17ft truck when we got here last year and 1 1/2 to move!

Bored out of our minds with nothing better to do, we made some masks to pass the time!

Saturday we were all moved over--except for the trash and cleaning of the old apartment...erg. But soon that was done with and it was inspected on Wednesday and we expect they'll try to rip us off pretty good...but oh well... what can you do. Here is the kids new room... it's much bigger than the picture looks...and I'll need to update since we have some things on the walls...

Here is the living room...sorry...a little dark--no over head lighting. We have a back porch (we on the second floor) so the kids love playing out there and I don't have to worry about Bergen wondering off!

Since Svend is out of school and just working, it's been nice having him HOME in the evening--free of homework and studying...so we've been playing! Here is a big fountain down the street from us (the aquatic center is just next to it...but it cost $$ and our kids don't know about it yet!)

Notice Tally is a little afraid to really get into the direct fire of the water. Bergen just sat on the sidelines and watched... he used to love water but is going back into the "scared" phase. Cute kid though!

We of course do NOT just let our kids sit out for long... No pictures, but Tally was on my back while we ran through several times.

Also just down the street is one of our FAVORITE parks! Sand pit, slides, swings, etc...even this huge climbing thing.

Don't they look great on top of the mountain???? (it was only 6 ft off the ground!)

One of the biggest events that has happened is Tally finally got her skates! She has been wanting to ice skate for so long and so she had to be good for a while (earning "hearts" and then used some of her $$ and some $$ we got from coinstar). She she is...the newest SKATER CHICK!
Complete with COOL HAIR!

We found a friend that lives just outside out door. We sat and watched this friend for quite a while!

Everyone is interested in Svend's goggles. Bergen grabs them and wears them whenever he gets the chance!

Since we've been without technology, we've had quite a different "program" at our house... usually it's play all morning...nap for Bergen around 12, then Tally has movie time, quiet time (NOT a movie) and then art time... Here are the sock puppets we made for her and Bergen.

So, our new community is GREAT. We love it but noticed RIGHT away we are without a doubt the minority! We stick out like a sore thumb!!! There are some kindof "scary" things we see and hear so since we only have ONE LOCK on our door, here was our "extra security" at night! IT's a door jam. I'm going to have to do it during the day too...if I take a nap because today when the comcast guy came, Tally opened the door for him and THEN came to get me (I was napping!). So...we had a talk about that!

We're on the second floor, but our door is on the bottom...so here's our entry way.

Whew! that was a LOT!
Other things that have happened in the 2 weeks....
Tally:
The other day I came out of my room and her and Bergen were out on the back porch (NOT Aloud without someone watching). She says "I didn't see you so you didn't tell me no" in all innocence!!! She's done this SEVERAL times now!!!
Bergen:
Words--- bye bye, yum yum yum (has to be 3 of them), back pack (dora), NO! (erg!), yep, WHOA!, WOOOW!, cheese, bababa (banana), thank you
Also, yesterday we has screaming in the car and I was frustrated but just before expressing it, I looked back at him and he was putting is hands up (palms forward) by his face and screaming with joy and hilarious look on his face, then he'd stop, put his hands down, and do it all over again! FUNNY!!! He was just being silly. He's also VERY physical! HOLY COW!! He head-butts, hits, and pushes...oh boy. But I do have to say...he's losing the title of "destruct-o" He no longer destroys everything--whew!
Our new ward is Wonderful! Tally already has a best friends, Desi, who just turned 3. They pal around where ever they go and I think we've seen them everyday this week! We are doing good and having a lot of fun. Svend put in his 2 weeks notice on Wedneday so he'll have 2 days off, then the weekend before he starts school. Not much of a summer for him. He's been working sooo hard and we're so grateful for his hard work and dedication!

Hooray for your new apartment! It looks great!
It's only been a month or so, and your kids look much older already. That picture of Bergen by the fountain especially makes him look older. You'll have to take us to that park when we get back! It looks very fun.
you have been busy, it's interesting the things you do when you don't have technology ;) glad to hear the move was smooth, sorry to hear that you have to use extra "locks" - so not fun. welcome back to blogging :)
Wow...long blog! I'm glad to see you're back online...we've missed reading about Tally & Bergen's escapades! Congrats on your new apartment...deadbolts are cheap and easy to install!
