The Neurosurgeon

This past week we got in to see the neurosurgeon up at Children's in Wisconsin for Bergen's softspot. We are really grateful for this doctor and are glad to be working with him. Also, though we complain again and again about our government health care while Svend is in school, we are now grateful for it, as it should be covering all the further costs for Bergen (don't worry, we're not converting to dems! :)

So now, here's a simplified version of what we do know. Bergen's softspot in the back of his head has closed. However, there is significant deterioration of the bone causing an indention in the back of his head. This deterioration covers about 3 inches of his bone but is only really severe in the "spot." The Dr has never seen it before and so Bergen will be having a few tests in the next two weeks to determine what it is and what is causing it. His brain is absolutely perfect and there is bone covering the entire brain, so he's safe. Anyways, that's where we're at.
