4th of July--Gurnee Illinois!

For our first 4th of July in Illinois, Svends family came on over! Bret and Siri (with their 4 kids) came from Ohio and Grandma and Grandpa Bjorn from Washington. We also had a big surprise when some of our friends from Rexburg (now living in Ohio) came over as well!! What a full house! I hate down time...so the goal was to stay busy and HOLY COW WE DID!!! Friday we had a bbq (not like a REAL one in Texas...but they typical hamburgers and hotdogs). Then, we headed to the near by park where the kids could play...and the adults! Too bad no one brought their cameras. We were having bouncing competitions on this giant see-saw...the poor kids (holding on for their lives)! But us adults are all suffering with bruises and sore backs!! Then, we headed over to the hotel for swimming! I was really proud of Tally because she actually let go of us and tried swimming with her life jacket on. She even BEGGED to go in the cold pool with her surragate uncle, Josh. After swimming we went to dinner (thank you Bjorns) and then on to the FANTASTIC Gurnee fireworks show!!! As you can see, Tally and some of her cousins enjoyed the show from the car! Thanks Siri for sticking it out with them! The next morning we woke up early so we could catch the train to Chicago. I think Tally was just a LITTLE tired! We hurried as fast as we could and missed it by 2 minutes and had to wait another 20! erg!! But, we finally made it down only to realize that the free trolly was COMPLETELY booked...so we hiked to the aquarium. Poor kids! Once there, we saw lots of fish (duh) and dolphins and sharks! We even saw a dolphin show!! Tally danced the whole time the dolphins did! Here's Tally with two of her cousins...notice how tall Tally is? Her cousins are 8 and nearly 7! Bergen was the trooper of the weekend! He woke up on Thursday with a definit eye infection and we pushed him into so much stuff... poor kid! But, he hung in there...Sunday he had a 104.6 temperature but finally he's on the mend!!! Here he is with Grandma!

Whao! That was one LONG weekend!! But definitly fun!!!

Looks like lots of fun!!! I can't believe Tally is the same height as her much older cousins. Crazy! Are you raising a giant or something? Just kidding. I can say that because I actually DO have giant children.
: ) Happy 4th!
