This Isn't My Idea of Fun

Terrible twos have begun... 6months early, just like with Tally. Really, it shouldn't be called the terrible twos...because for most people I know, it lasts from about 18months to 2 1/2. Bergen has begun... Here's a list of how you KNOW without a doubt your beloved baby has hit the dreaded stage:

1. NEVER NEVER NEVER leave the bathroom door open without supervision. This is fine until "the stage" when that fearful sound of the toilet lid lifting and water splashing appears!

2. Your house is only clean as long as the child is asleep

3. Food that isn't wanted is not just dropped, but thrown violently across the room

4. screaming becomes their only word

5. If you hold them, they try to "fling" themselves out of your arms as if they could fly

6. If you make them walk, they run WHEREVER not caring about ANYTHING

7. when you say "no", they ignore, when you yell "no", they look, but only when you reach out and grab (with force because it's "theirs" and they aren't going to let go easily) the object they shouldn't have do they flinch--and then it's tantrum time!

8. They can throw a tantrum at the drop of a hat---this includes flailing their body, screaming, turning red (or even purple by holding their breath), kicking, hitting, etc

9. At bedtime, they no long lay is bed until they fall asleep, now they have the kick/hit the wall, scream randomly (keeping their older sibling who shares a room with him awake) until they finally just fall over in whatever position and pass out.
10. The word MINE means just that---even if they can't say it yet...they know EXaCTLY what it means!


Despite the "rough" times, you can turn their attention in an instant to other happy things---that is...IF you remember to not loose it first!
