Back in Seattle.....again!

Okay, so we just pulled in to Svend's parent's house for the last time in who knows when. The kids did really good in the car--granted we stayed our first in a hotel with a pool and then went to tri-cities and stayed at his sisters house...so only like 4-5 hours a day. Our trip to Texas will be just a TAD more grewling. We're leaving here sometime before the 21st and heading to Portland to see Svend's grandparents. Then, on the 21st we're beginning our adventure. The plan is to get up every morning and leave at about 7 then drive until the kids are CRANKY beyond all reason, then get out for lunch and let Tally run around for about 2 hours...then drive while she naps and then stop...and continue that for about 5 days! WOW! What fun!!!!!

So we left Rexburg for our very last time...and man is it wierd! It actually took us 4 hours just to get out of Rexburg!!! We had our apartment all cleaned by 2 and then we just went around campus and soaked it up and the said goodbye to a few life-friends (just a few, so if you were there and we didn't say goodbye...you're still a life-friend!!! ) Anyways, Svend has lots of family there too, so we had to go say goodbye to them as well. It's so weird to be leaving our home for the last time. Sure, we've moved 5 times in the 4 years we've been married, but they've just been within the same 5 miles!! So yes it's wierd! We are planning on sending Tally to EFY there--just to give us an excuse to go back!!! Anyways, we'll miss Rexburg but are SOO glad to move on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, Bergen's screaming for me.... bye!

Hey Jess! We're about to do the move from college life too and I'm so overwhelmed. It's funny to be so emotionally attached to a place that I've been so anxious to leave! Are ya'll staying in Seattle permanently? We just bought a house in Kirkland (East of Seattle) and will be up there the end of June! Now that I know I've got like 3 weeks I'm really making my list of must-do items so that I have no regrets!

Stend and Jessica,
Hi - you're probably on the road right now on your way to Texas and then on to Chicago. I just talked to Aunt Vonda at the farm and she filled me in on the skinny about your plans to go to Chicago.

My name is Melanie Hillam Stoddard. I'm your uncle Rulon's daughter. (Jex is my cousin). We lived at the farm in Ashton for several years and had more cookouts around the firepit than I can count!

I'm writing to let you know that you won't be alone in Chicago. My daughter, Heidi and her husband Dave Ellsworth are moving the end of July to start Podiatry school in mid-August. They have a darling little 11 month old son, Luke.

My sister Julie's son, Mike and Melissa Petersen are at the same school starting their 2nd year in med school....and your cousin Jay and Allison hope to join you next year.

I'm not a believer in chance. I think someone upstairs (Grandpa Marv) is pulling strings to get you all together. He was all about supporting one another and family togetherness.

I hope that you will be able to learn to love my daughter as much as I will miss her. I was always so close to my cousin, Darla Myers, and hope that all of you will have many happy memories together.

My very best to you and may God bless you in your in your travels.

PS: Heidi and Dave will be staying at the Grandview Apts in Waukegen. She'll be arriving on Aug 1st.
