Pics from Texas to Illinois

So Monday the 21st? we left for Illinois. We stopped in Muskogee Ok for dinner that day (a little scary place) then Springfield Mo that night. That's a place we'll always remember because when we went to leave in the morning, we noticed that some nice person had willingly hit our car and then in all their niceness, didn't leave a note. So on to Quincy Il for our second night. That was an "interesting" place. We thought it'd be nice since it's kind of part of church history...but nope, don't recomend stopping there! So then, we got up early and headed to Carthage. A note to those wanting to go to Carthage with small children...everyone does it, but you have to go with the attitude that you may not get ANYTHING out of it! :) Oh, we saw President and Sister Clark there on vacation (BYU-I president) and some friends that used to be our neighbors about 2 years ago! It's a small world in the church!
Tally just loved the Christus. I think she knows more than everyone gives a two year old credit! We must have taken about 10 pics in front of the statue at her request. She just loved it!

Always beeming of course

She also loves temples. She insisted she get a pic in front of this replica.

This is Nauvoo at the blacksmith shop where everyone gets a free prairie diamond (the nail ring). They even had one that fit Tally! So again with Nauvoo....some things you should know with small kids....1.NOT everything is within walking distance 2. you should be happy if you get to listen to ONE presentation without leaving 3. Expect crying and irreverance!

They did have a "kids games" section...unfortunately we got there at closing...but Tally loved sitting on the animals.

That night, after Nauvoo we headed straight to Gurnee (our new home). Surprisingly the kids were still in some what good moods. In fact, one thing you should also know about leaving Nauvoo is that your kids will be WORN OUT from all the walking and heat...so both slept for about 3 hours!

Tally enjoying another movie!

So now HOME to our place in Gurnee. No pics of the apt yet...but the area is pretty nice. This is from a park by our apartment. Bergen is turning into such a ham when it comes to the camera. He knows when to smile and this is his new smile. Svend thinks he looks like my nephew Ryley. (Hope I spelled that right!). Anyways, I just think he's adorable! He'll be 7 months next week and is currently ALL over the place scooting and rolling. Tries to crawl but basically scoots on his face (poor guy). Loves ANY food (as you can tell from the rolls) and loves to play with Tally...even if she's really being mean...he thinks she's playing with him-so it works!

And of Course, the queen bee....Tally!

I miss you guys! Thanks for all the pictures. Sounds like you guys had quite the exciting trip up there. Glad you made it safely! We are excited to plan a trip up to the church history sites and see you guys. Probably won't be for a while though. We just got back from San Antonio and are in no hurry to get back in the car! I'm sure you understand completely! Maybe in a year or two! Love ya!
